Sergio Micco Aguayo, is a lawyer, politician, and chilean academic. He was Vice President of the "Democracia Cristiana Party" of
Chile, between 2004 and 2008, and President of the "Juventudes Demócrata-Cristianas" of Chile. He studied law at the "Universidad de Concepción", where he was President
of the students Federation.
In his time as student, he obtained a master's degree
in political science at the "Universidad Católica de Chile" and a Ph.D. in
philosophy from the University of Chile.
Currently he is an academic faculty of Economics and
business of the University of Chile. He was previously a professor at Stanford
University, headquarters for Latin America, in the "Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile", in the "University of Talca" and the "Alberto Hurtado
University". Also is Director of the Institute national human rights where he
was elected by the Deans of the law faculties of the universities of the Council
of rectors and autonomous universities, for the period 2014-2019.
Among his most notable works, highlight: "The
American Revolution in the light of Hannah Arendt" and " The policy
without intellectuals”, both of them belonging to the year 2015.
Personally I chose this teacher, because I had the
opportunity to have classes with him the last year, in the subject “Hipol”. I
think that he is a great academic, being that the methods of his teachings are
very effective, and at the same time, his classes were very dynamic, and
therefore, I think I learned enough in relation to the subject.
Micco was my teacher in second in second semester , I learned much with him.
